Colombian forward Brayan Leon ensured that Mamelodi Sundowns returned to the CAF Champions League for the second year in a row after seeing off Esperance Tunis over two legs.
The 25-year-old forward scored in both legs as the Mamelodi Sundowns secured a two-nil aggregate score over the Tunisian side.
Having won 1-0 in Tunis the previous week, the South African champions entered the second leg with confidence and started the match on a positive note.
Brayan Leon scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 25th minute. The forward pounced on a rebound after Bechir Ben Said made an initial save.
The hosts dominated the second leg at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium but couldn’t double the advantage.
However, the result was just enough to see the Masandawana return to the final of the Champions League after losing last year’s final to Pyramids FC.
Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Berkane or FAR Rabat in the final.
Meanwhile, FAR Rabat holds a 2-0 advantage ahead of the second leg in Berkane later tonight.
