Mykhailo Mudryk has been provisionally suspended from the Premier League after failing a doping test.
According to the Football Association, the Chelsea winger was contacted concerning an unusual finding in his routine urine test.
Chelsea in a statement confirmed that the club works with the FA for the regular testing of its players including Mudryk.
It also says the club will work with relevant authorities to investigate the course of the adverse finding in the urine test of the player.
“Both the Club and Mykhailo fully support the FA’s testing programme and all our players, including Mykhailo, are regularly tested”.
“Mykhailo has confirmed categorically that he has never knowingly used any banned substances”.
“Both Mykhailo and The Club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what has caused the adverse finding”.
Mykhailo Mudryk has seen less game time under Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea this season.
The winger has three goals and four assists in 15 matches for the Blues so far. The winger is however yet to score a goal in the Premier League.
Chelsea are currently second on the Premier League table with 34 points – two points off league leaders Liverpool.
