Manchester City’s woes deepened as they suffered a fourth consecutive loss under Pep Guardiola for the first time, falling 2-1 to Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

City dominated early, with Erling Haaland scoring his fourth goal in as many matches against Brighton after Mateo Kovacic’s clever pass.

But despite Haaland’s chances for a hat-trick, the Norwegian fluffed his lines, sending City into the break with just a one-goal advantage.

The hosts improved after the break, with substitute Joao Pedro equalizing from close range amid a scramble.

Matt O’Riley then sealed Brighton’s stunning win on his Premier League debut, slotting home Pedro’s pass.
