Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes now holds the record for the most assists in the history of the Premier League.
Fernandes reached the landmark achievement on the final day of the season as the Red Devils took Brighton and Hove Albion apart on the South Coast.
The Portuguese midfielder wiped a measured cross from a corner kick into the box for Patrick Dorgu’s header to give Michael Carrick’s men the lead.
Bruno Fernandes’ record-breaking assist comes eight days after equalling Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s joint record.
Fernandes also got on the score sheet as Manchester United ended the season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Brighton.
Bruno Fernandes also received the playmaker award after the match following his 21 assists.
Having been named Premier League and Football Writers’s Player of the Season, Fernandes with nine goals and 21 assists is the prime favourite to win the Professional Football Association version of the award.
