Saturday, April 19, 2025, delivered a thrilling array of Bundesliga matches, featuring dominant performances, dramatic comebacks, and tightly contested draws.
Here’s a comprehensive roundup of the day’s six fixtures:
Bayern Munich 4–0 Heidenheim
At the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich moved one step closer to clinching their 33rd Bundesliga title with a commanding 4–0 victory over Heidenheim.
Harry Kane opened the scoring with a clinical header in the 23rd minute, taking his tally to 30 goals in his debut Bundesliga season. Konrad Laimer doubled the lead just before halftime, converting from a Jamal Musiala pass.
In the second half, Kingsley Coman added a third with a brilliant solo effort, before Joshua Kimmich capped off the performance with a long-range screamer in the 79th minute. The Bavarians are now nine points clear of Bayer Leverkusen with just four games remaining.
Union Berlin 4–4 VfB Stuttgart
In what will go down as one of the most entertaining halves in Bundesliga history, Union Berlin and VfB Stuttgart produced an eight-goal first-half spectacle that stunned the crowd at Stadion An der Alten Försterei.
Union raced to a 2–0 lead within 12 minutes through Andrej Ilic and Diogo Leite. Stuttgart responded in kind with goals from Deniz Undav and Enzo Millot.
A frantic exchange of goals followed, with both sides finding the net twice more before the break, resulting in a 4–4 halftime score — the most goals ever recorded in a first half of a Bundesliga match.
The second half, in contrast, saw both sides tighten up defensively, and the score remained unchanged. The draw keeps Stuttgart in contention for Champions League qualification.
Mainz 2–2 Wolfsburg

In a match filled with momentum shifts, Mainz and Wolfsburg settled for a 2-2 draw. Both teams exchanged leads, with Wolfsburg initially taking an early advantage before Mainz equalized.
The result leaves both sides reflecting on missed opportunities to secure all three points.
RB Leipzig 1–1 Holstein Kiel
It ended all square at the Red Bull Arena. Leipzig managed to get themselves back into it after goalkeeper Dähne brought down Openda for a penalty which Benjamin Šeško converted.

But ultimately, they didn’t do quite enough and they allowed too many chances for Kiel. The injuries to both Zec and Gulácsi provide a somber backdrop to the result, but ultimately it’s honours even in Leipzig.
Freiburg 3–2 TSG Hoffenheim
After a see-sawing match with some spectacular goals, Freiburg hold out for a precious win in the race for European qualification.

After going two goals up, they allowed themselves to be pegged back as Hoffenheim pounced in first-half injury time, but some assured finishing from two-goal hero Lucas Höler – and some dogged defending – in the second half saw Freiburg take all three points to climb to fifth.
Werder Bremen 1-0 Bochum

A game that sparked into life in the final 10 minutes as Weiser poked home to give the hosts the lead. The goal was initially given offside, but after a review, it was given.
Immediately after the goal, things went from bad to worse for Bochum as Sissoko picked up his second yellow card for fighting and he was sent off.
Bochum couldn’t find a leveller and it is the hosts who come away with all three points. The possibility of European football next season is looking more and more likely for Bremen with every week.
