Chelsea failed to secure maximum points from a winning position for a second consecutive game in the Premier League as Burnley snatched a late point at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues led for most of the tie until the 93rd minute when Scott Parker’s men grabbed the equaliser courtesy of Zian Flemmings header.

João Pedro put Liam Rosenoir’s Chelsea into an early lead as he scrambled Pedro Neto’s square ball into the net just four minutes into the tie.

Chelsea held the lead into the break with limited attempts towards goal against a Burnley side battling relegation.

The Clarets got a lifeline into the match as Wesley Fofana picked up his second yellow card reducing Chelsea to 100 men after the hour mark.

Burnley made the advantage count in the 93rd minute as Dutch forward, Zian Flemming, left unmarked in the box, buried a header from Scott Parker’s corner kick into the back of the net.

A minute later, Jacob Bruno Larsen had a similar chance but missed the opportunity to grab a famous win for the Clarets as their battle for survival continues.

Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Albion ended their six-game winless streak in all competitions with a 2-0 victory away at Brentford.

Two first-half goals from Diego Gomez and former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck secured the win for the Seagulls.

Aston Villa’s piss-poor form of late continued on Saturday afternoon as Tammy Abraham rescued Unai Emery’s men from defeat at home to Leeds United.

The former Chelsea striker scored in the 88th minute to help the Villans secure a point as they remain in third with 51 points – six points over Chelsea and Manchester United who have a game in hand.
