Burnley return back to the Premier league after defeating Middlesbrough last night 2-1 away from home to secure promotion.
Komapany’s men needed all three points to get promoted back to the EPL following Luton Town’s draw away to Millwall.
Burnley went ahead just after 12 minutes with veteran striker Barnes putting them ahead. Championship’s top scorer Chuba Akpom equalized for the home side from the penalty spot, however Roberts scored the winner that secured promotion for Burnley at the first time of asking after been relegated just last season.
The Clarets got promoted by setting a championship record which has never happened. They secured qualification to the EPL with seven games.
Burnley’s next target will be winning the league with the remaining games as they are eleven points ahead of second place Sheffield United. and with just seven games to go it’s only a matter of when and not if.
