CAF Champions League Roundup: Rivers United, Al Ahly and Orlando Pirates Progress

The CAF Champions League delivered another thrilling weekend of action as several African heavyweights advanced in style.

Orlando Pirates kept their continental ambitions alive, defeating St Eloi Lupopo 3–0 (3–1 on penalties) after a tense tie that needed spot-kicks to settle. South Africa’s giants showed composure under pressure to book their place in the next round.

In Nigeria, Rivers United put in a confident display with a 3–1 win over Black Bulls, led by an inspired attack that saw them dominate throughout.

Al Ahly of Egypt, the competition’s most successful club, secured a narrow 1–0 victory against Aigle Noir, relying on their experience to edge through.

Elsewhere, Young Africans eased past Silver Strikers 2–0, Petro Atletico of Angola beat Stade d’Abidjan 2–0, while Kabylie edged Monastir 2–1 in a close North African encounter.
