In Nigeria, Rivers United put in a confident display with a 3–1 win over Black Bulls, led by an inspired attack that saw them dominate throughout.
Al Ahly of Egypt, the competition’s most successful club, secured a narrow 1–0 victory against Aigle Noir, relying on their experience to edge through.
Elsewhere, Young Africans eased past Silver Strikers 2–0, Petro Atletico of Angola beat Stade d’Abidjan 2–0, while Kabylie edged Monastir 2–1 in a close North African encounter.
