Chelsea extended their winning run over Tottenham Hotspur to six matches on Saturday night.

The Blues bounced back to victory after last weekend’s home loss to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

Brazilian striker Joao Pedro had the first real chance to put the Blues ahead just after the half- hour mark as he forced a save off Guglielmo Vicario.

However, the Italian goalkeeper was rendered helpless moments later as Joao Pedro planted the ball into the back after Moises Caicedo dispossed Cuti Romero off the ball in the box.

Joao Pedro almost got the second two minutes before the break but once again was denied by Vicario who parried the ball away from a corner.

Chelsea ended the first half the better side with four shots on target while the host, overwhelmed, managed just one.

Chelsea continued to do dominate Spurs after the restart but couldn’t add to their tally.

Guglielmo Vicario had quite an outstanding performance on the night as he made a couple of saves to deny the visitors in the second.

Substitute, Jamie Gittens missed the chance to double Chelsea’s lead late on as a ballooned the ball into the stands with only the goalkeeper to beat.
