Recce James and Enzo Fernandez scored in each half as Chelsea secured a 2-1 win over Copenhagen away from home.
The Blues continued their 100% run in the competition despite a difficult start to the match as Malo Gusto and Benoit Badiashile came off injured.
Both teams struggled to create meaningful chances in the first half as it ended in a stalemate.
However Recce James smashed the deadlock with a long range effort a minute into the second half to give Chelsea the lead.
Copenhagen’s Viktor Claesson’s shot five minutes later came off the post as the home side search for the equalizer.
Unfortunately, the Blues doubled their lead. Enzo Fernandez scored another long range strike five minutes after the hour mark to double Chelsea’s lead.
Gabriel Pereira’s bullet header from Marcos Lpwz’s cross reduced the deficit but the Blues held on to the lead to the blast of the final whistle.
Enzo Maresca’s men take a 2-1 advantage to Stamford Bridge ahead of the return leg next week with the hope to secure qualification into the quarter-finals of the Conference League.
