Chelsea are still looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new football season, and Dutch attacking midfielder Xavi Simons is the latest player heavily linked to the club.
Reports suggest that the reigning FIFA Club World Cup champions are on the verge of agreeing to personal terms with the 22-year-old midfielder who also doubles as a winger.
Xavi Simons is reportedly keen on the move as he looks to leave Leipzig seven months after signing a permanent deal until 2027.
The Dutch midfielder joined Leipzig on loan from PSG during the 2023/2024 season after a successful outing at PSV, where he scored 22 goals in 48 matches during the previous season.
Xavi Simons joined Leipzig from PSG on a permanent deal for €50 million and €31 million in bonuses on the 30th of January 2025.
The 22-year-old scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 32 matches for Leipzig last season but notified the club of his intention to leave after missing out on Champions League qualification.
Xavi Simons, with two years left on contract, will be available for about €70 million as Chelsea look to strengthen their attacking options.
