Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca says Super Eagles-eligible defender, Tosin Adarabioyo is fit and will be available for team selection when Chelsea travel to face Nottingham Forest.
Adarabioyo has been on the sidelines for the past three weeks as he missed Chelsea’s loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, and the victories against Benfica and Liverpool.
The former Fulham defender recovered from injury during the international break and could be in the starting line-up when Chelsea travel to the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forest.
Adarabioyo is reportedly open to representing the Super Eagles but was unavailable to get an invitation for the October window owing to his injury.
In his absence, the Italian manager deployed Benoît Badiashile, Josh Acheampong, Jorrel Hato and Trevoh Chalobah in central defense.
Enzo Maresca revealed that the international window was a good period as a couple of players returned from injury when asked if the two weeks was good or bad having lost some players to injury during the period.
“No. It’s a good one because Tosin is back, Fofana is back, Andrey Santos is back.”
“But at the same time, we have unfortunately Enzo out, Moi is out, Pedro is out, so it’s a little bit balanced, but we are going to try our best to find the right solutions for the next games.”
Maresca also confirmed that Benoît Badiashile is out until December after sustaining a muscle injury.
Chelsea take on a struggling Nottingham Forest side at lunchtime on Saturday. The Tricky Trees are winless in their last nine games across all competitions.
However, Nottingham Forest new manager, Ange Postecoglou will hope to get his first win against the Blues having gone gone on a seven-match winless streak.
