Chelsea is preparing to initiate formal discussions with Manchester United regarding the potential transfer of winger Alejandro Garnacho.
This development follows Manchester United’s rejection of a €50 million (£42 million) bid from Napoli, as the club seeks a higher valuation for the 20-year-old Argentine.
Since the appointment of head coach Ruben Amorim, Garnacho has found playing time hard to come by, starting only four of the last 11 Premier League matches and once since being omitted from the matchday squad for last month’s derby and this has prompted speculation about his future at Old Trafford.
Chelsea has expressed serious interest in acquiring Garnacho to bolster their attacking options. The club has been in contact with the player’s representatives and is now set to approach Manchester United to negotiate a potential deal.
Napoli remains interested in Garnacho but has begun exploring alternative options, including Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi, after their initial offer for the Argentine was declined.
Manchester United is reportedly seeking a transfer fee in the region of £60-£70 million for Garnacho. This valuation reflects the player’s potential and contributions since joining United from Atlético Madrid in 2020.
