Chelsea’s winless streak extended to four matches following a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening.
The Blues took an early lead through Cole Palmer, who capitalized on a clever assist from Jadon Sancho. Sancho’s deft dummy created space, allowing him to deliver a precise pass to Palmer, who finished confidently.
Despite dominating the first half, Chelsea failed to convert additional opportunities, leaving the scoreline at 1-0 by halftime. In the second half, Crystal Palace grew into the game, with notable performances from Eberechi Eze and Daniel Muñoz.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 82nd minute when Jean-Philippe Mateta equalized, following a move initiated by Muñoz and assisted by Eze.
This result leaves Chelsea in fourth place, with Newcastle United and Manchester City closing in. Manager Enzo Maresca will seek to address these issues promptly as the team prepares for their next fixture against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
