Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo has backed Lamine Yamal to be a generational talent and potentially win the Ballon d’Or.

Yamal has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world of football, becoming one of the finest wingers on the planet and playing a pivotal role as Spain won EURO 2024.

The 17-year-old La Masia graduate is the key man for new Barcelona coach Hansi Flick with teammates, rivals, former players, and pundits all in awe of the player’s ability and potential.

During a recent interview, the Real Madrid legend named Yamal as a future Ballon d’Or winner. CR7 also went on to state that the Barcelona prodigy has what it takes to become one of the best players of the new generation.

“I see great potential and great talent. He needs a bit of luck because he is still very young. I hope he doesn’t have any problems,” he said during an interaction with Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel.
