Ed Sheeran apologised on his Instagram story for interrupting Ruben Amorim’s post-match interview with Sky Sports following Man United’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
The singer, a lifelong Ipswich fan and club shareholder, was in attendance for the game on Sunday evening.
Following the game, Amorim was speaking to reporters about his debut as United’s manager when Sheeran strolled into the shot to greet pundit Jamie Redknapp.
The singer then joked that Amorim “didn’t want to speak to” him before walking off.
“Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn’t actually realize he was being interviewed at the time.
“Was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Obvz feel a bit of a bellend but life goes on. Great game though, congrats on all involved x.” Sheeran wrote on his IG story.
Ed Sheeran will be pleased with the performance of his team on Sunday as they fight for survival in the Premier League.
