Instead of December 14, the pre-AFCON 2025 friendly match between the Pharaoahs of Egypt and the Super Eagles of Nigeria will now be played on a new date.
According to brahim Hassan, director of the Egyptian national team, Nigeria requested for the adjustement of the date.
The preparatory match will now be played on December 16 at the Cairo International Stadium with kick-off set for 8 p.m. local time.
“The Nigeria match will be held on December 16 instead of the 14, after Nigeria requested a 48-hour postponement,” Ibrahim Hassan said.
“The match will take place at Cairo Stadium a 8 pm”
The Super Eagles have won their last two meetings aginst the Pharaohs with the latest being a 1-0 win at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations group stage opener.
Meanwhile, Eric Chelle announced a 54-man Super Eagles preliminary squad for the tournament with the final list set to be released in the days ahead.
