An unfortunate own goal denied Bendel Insurance maximum point against Enugu Rangers on Saturday evening at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.

Bendel Insurance were looking to win their third home match  in a row after consecutive victories over Kano Pillars and Wikki Tourist previously.

While Rangers were hoping to win again at the venue after their 1-0 win last season.

The tie was quite a cagey affair as both teams defended quite well to deny goalscoring opportunities.

However, after an 80 minutes of action, Promise Anyanwu gave the hosts the lead to send the home side into frenzy.

Bendel Insurance were coasting home to victory until an unfortunate own-goal in added time gave the victors a point.
