Oghenekaro Etebo has made his long-awaited return to competitive football after more than a year on the sidelines.
The Super Eagles midfielder returned to action for Gençlerbirliği on Saturday, featuring against Fenerbahçe in their opening fixture of the new Turkish Süper Lig season.
Etebo, who had been sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury, was introduced in the 75th minute as Gençlerbirliği completed an impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Fenerbahçe.
The return marks a significant moment for the Nigerian midfielder, who has endured a lengthy spell away from competitive football while recovering from the injury.
Etebo will now hope to build on his return and gradually regain full match fitness as the season progresses.
