Ethan Nwaneri: Nigeria-eligible star told to play for England after UCL heroics

Former Chelsea star Joe Cole has lavished praise on Arsenal’s teenage sensation Ethan Nwaneri, hailing him as the most exciting player in Europe.

Cole believes Nwaneri is destined for greatness with England, despite being eligible to represent Nigeria.

Nwaneri’s impressive display in Arsenal’s record-breaking 7-1 Champions League win over PSV on Tuesday left Cole purring.

“For me, he is so good that he doesn’t need the England U21s,” He told TNT Sports.

Cole is convinced that Nwaneri is ready for the senior England team and should be one of the first names on the team sheet of the new boss, Thomas Tuchel.

“He needs to go straight in with Thomas Tuchel, get around the squad, and get some minutes because he is an England player for the next 10-15 years.”

“I think he is going to be an absolute genius. I think he is the most exciting footballer in England and maybe Europe. What he is doing is incredible.”

With Nwaneri’s stock rising by the week, he’ll be eager to continue his impressive form when Arsenal face Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.
