The Europa League heavy kickoff was full of drama as some heavyweights stumbled against inferior opposition.

Portuguese side Braga continued their fine home form with a confident 2-0 victory over Crvena zvezda, while Brann stunned Rangers 3-0 in Norway to pile pressure on the Scottish giants. In Bucharest, Bologna came from behind to defeat FCSB 2-1, maintaining their unbeaten start to the campaign.

Elsewhere, Fenerbahce edged Stuttgart 1-0 in a tight contest in Istanbul, thanks to a resolute defensive display.
