Matchday Four of the UEFA Europa League saw several heavy hitters lock in crucial victories, though not without high drama across the continent.
Aston Villa continued their impressive European campaign with a 2-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv at Villa Park. Ian Maatsen opened the scoring just before halftime, and a Donyell Malen penalty in the second half sealed the three points for Unai Emery’s side.
Elsewhere, AS Roma proved too strong for Rangers, winning 2-0 at Ibrox to take full control of their fixture.
