Manchester United needed a second-half masterclass from Bruno Fernandes to claim a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
Everton dominated the first half, piling pressure on Manchester United’s backline. Beto’s fifth goal in four Premier League outings gave the hosts the lead, and Abdoulaye Doucouré doubled the advantage shortly after.
United struggled to create chances, but a free-kick won by Alejandro Garnacho allowed Bruno Fernandes to score with a clever strike. The goal changed the atmosphere, and United pushed for an equalizer. Manuel Ugarte eventually volleyed in from the edge of the area, sparking a chaotic finale.
Jordan Pickford made a crucial save to deny Fernandes a winner, and deep into stoppage time, VAR denied Everton a penalty after Maguire pulled down Ashley Young in the box.
Despite the disappointment, Everton remain on an upward trajectory, while Ruben Amorim’s United will see this as cause for optimism.
