Roberto Firmino delivered a masterclass performance to lead Al-Ahli to their first-ever AFC Champions League Elite title, securing a 2-0 victory over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
The Brazilian forward provided assists for both goals, earning the Player of the Tournament accolade and etching his name into Asian football history.
The breakthrough came in the 35th minute when Firmino set up Galeno, who unleashed a stunning strike into the top corner. Seven minutes later, Firmino delivered a precise cross that Franck Kessié headed home, doubling Al-Ahli’s lead before halftime.

Al-Ahli’s victory capped an unbeaten tournament run, with 12 wins and a draw, culminating in a dominant final performance.
This triumph also marked a historic achievement for Firmino, Edouard Mendy, and Riyad Mahrez, who became the first players to win both the UEFA and AFC Champions League titles.
The team’s success not only brings continental glory but also secures their place in the 2025 Intercontinental Cup and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup.
