After a two-year hiatus from top-flight football, Dele Alli is on the verge of a comeback.
Manager Cesc Fabregas had initially downplayed the possibility of a deal, saying: “Dele Alli, he’s training with us, he’s fine. For the moment, he is only here to train.”
However, it appears that Alli has done enough to convince Fabregas and the Como hierarchy to offer him a contract.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the contract will run until June 2026, with an option for an additional year if certain appearance and availability targets are met.
Alli’s last competitive game was in February 2023, during a loan spell at Besiktas, and the former MK Dons man will be delighted to get another opportunity to show what he can do.
