Ghana delivered a commanding 4–1 victory over Tanzania, sealing their place in the quarter‑finals of the ongoing WAFCON 2024 in Morocco tonight.
Tanzania struck first with a goal just before halftime to level the game at 1–1, but Ghana unleashed an impressive second half. The Black Queens netted three goals after the break to complete a solid win and confirm their progression.
That result ensured Ghana finished the group with four points and leapfrogged Mali into second place behind South Africa.
At the Honneur Stadium in Oujda, defending champions South Africa emphatically shut out Mali 4–0, wrapping up the Group C stage on a high note.
Goals came from Lebohang Ramalepe, a spectacular free-kick by Refiloe Jane (32′), a clinical Hildah Magaia finish, and a composed first senior goal for Ronnel Donnelly.
The win allowed South Africa to finish top of the group with seven points.
South Africa now await Senegal in the quarter‑finals at the same venue on Friday, July 18. Ghana will face Algeria in their last‑eight tie on Saturday.
