Barcelona, the newly crowned La Liga champions, wrapped up the season with a convincing win over Athletic Bilbao in San Mames.

Atletico Madrid also took apart last season’s high-flyers, Girona, away from home, with all goals scored in the second half of the match.

Villareal celebrated their return to the Champions League with a convincing 4-2 win over Sevilla at the Estadio de la Ceramica.

Robert Lewandowski scored a brace but couldn’t catch up with Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe for the top scorer’s prize as he finished the season with 27 goals, four behind the French forward.

Dani Olmo came on as a second-half substitute to score Barcelona’s final goal of the season in added time of the 90 as the match ended 3-0.

Villareal ended their season on a brilliant note with victories over Champions Barcelona and Sevilla in their last home game for the season.

Senegalese striker Pape Gueye bagged a brace while Yeremt Pino and Ales Baena scored a goal each in the 4-2 win over Sevilla at the Ceremica on Sunday evening. Swiss midfielder Djibril Sow and Ramon Martinez got on the scoresheet for Sevilla as the Rojiblancos escaped relegation.
