Paris Saint-Germain secured a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich.
In a tightly contested match in Atlanta, the first clear chance came after 20 minutes when Désiré Doué set up Fabián Ruiz, who fired over.
PSG continued to push and created the game’s best opportunity when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s low drive was blocked by Manuel Neuer. Bayern thought they had scored just before halftime through Dayot Upamecano’s header from Olise’s free-kick, but it was disallowed for offside.
A serious injury to Jamal Musiala further dented Bayern’s momentum. Early in the second half, Neuer denied Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé missed an open goal after Neuer’s error.
PSG broke through with 10 minutes left, Doué’s sharp effort beating Neuer. The Parisians faced chaos when Willian Pacho was sent off for a high challenge on Leon Goretzka, followed by Lucas Hernández’s red card for an elbow on Raphaël Guerreiro, leaving PSG with nine men.
Harry Kane’s headed equalizer was ruled out for offside, and Dembélé sealed the win with a late goal to further boost his Ballon d’Or chances.
