Diogo Jota’s death continues to receive tribute from footballers, athletes, fans, among others, and his former coach, Jürgen Klopp, has just done the same.
Jürgen Klopp, the former Liverpool manager, described Jota not just as a fantastic player but also a great friend, a caring husband and father.
Klopp paid tributes to Diogo Jota, his former striker, during his nine-year stint at Liverpool, on his Instagram page on Thursday afternoon.
“This is a moment where I struggle! There must be a bigger purpose! But I can’t see it! I’m heartbroken to hear about the passing of Diogo and his brother André. Diogo was a not only a fantastic player, but also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father! We will miss you so much! All my prayers, thoughts and power to Rute, the kids, the family, the friends and everyone who loved them! Rest in peace – Love”.
Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, a footballer in the Portuguese second division, died in a fatal car crash in Zamora, Spain in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police report reveals that the incident happened due to a tire burst as the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle.
The car went into flames after it skidded off the road, according to the report.
Jota’s death comes a few days after he tied the knot with his wife Rute Cardoso in a colorful wedding ceremony alongside their three kids.
