Abdullahi Ibrahim Bewene had a debut to remember on Wednesday after an impressive outing for the Super Eagles against Poland on Wednesday night.
Bewene was arguably the best player on the pitch as he he owned the right back position over the course of game.
The 21-year-old Banik Ostrava defender reflected on his performance and what fans should expect after the 2-2 draw in Warsaw.
“I am very proud, I am very happy to repreent my country, Nigeria which I am ready to give more of this.”
“Whenever I get on the pitch, I just forget everything and remember I am representing the country so I have to give my all and make them (Nigerians) happy.”
When asked if he expects to get more invitations to the national team by Eric Chelle, Bewene said it’s the coach’s decision not his.
“I will not say because the decision is from the coach, it’s up to him”
Abdullahi Ibrahim Bewene was a late addition to the squad following a couple of Withdrawals for the friendly matches against Portugal and Poland.
Przemyslaw Wisniewski’s strike in the last second of the tie rescued Poland from defeat in Warsaw as the tie ended two-goal apiece.
