Kelechi Iheanacho and Raphael Onyedika have expressed their excitement and pride after Nigeria secured qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Super Eagles clinched their spot in the tournament following their dominant performances in the qualifiers which saw them qualify with two games to spare.

In a video posted on the Super Eagles’ Instagram handle, Iheanacho said, “Generally football is not easy. The way we cruised through the qualifiers made it look easy but it isn’t. There is a lot of work we put in both in training and in games as well. We are happy with the way we qualified and hopefully we get to the final again and win it.”

Onyedika said, ” It takes a  lot of hard work and dedication because the other teams want to qualify too. However we have a lot of quality in our squad so everything goes our way.”
