‘It’s their year’ – Chelsea icon Joe Cole picks team to win Champions League

Former Chelsea attacker Joe Cole has been impressed by the performances of several teams in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

He praised Aston Villa’s effort in their UCL quarterfinals first leg, saying, “Aston Villa played well by the way, they were on it last night.”

However, Cole believes that one team stands out from the rest. “But PSG are just steamrolling teams, they really are. I think it’s their year, I really do.”

Cole also doubts Real Madrid’s chances of overcoming a 3-0 deficit against Arsenal, saying,

“I don’t. Arsenal are well set up to hold them off. There will be pressure, but I’ve watched Real Madrid a few times this year and I think something is missing.”

He added, “You never want to write them off, but something is missing from the team, it needs a bit of freshness in the summer.

“I know Kylian Mbappe is scoring loads of goals, but there’s still something slightly missing. I think Arsenal have already done it.”

PSG previously defeated Liverpool, while Arsenal and Barcelona hold significant leads in their respective matches, 3-0 against Real Madrid and 4-0 against Borussia Dortmund.
