Fulham have welcomed back Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Samuel Chukwueze following the international break, during which the trio played key roles in Nigeria’s revival in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles, on the brink of missing their second consecutive World Cup after a slow start to their campaign, secured back-to-back victories against Lesotho and Benin. The results have breathed life into their qualification hopes and guaranteed them a place in the playoffs.
Iwobi featured prominently in midfield across both fixtures, providing control and experience, while Bassey anchored the defence with solid performances.
Chukwueze, whose pace and creativity troubled both opponents, played a decisive role, especially providing a brace of assists for Victor Osimhen in their 4–0 victory against Benin Republic in Uyo.
Fulham will now shift focus back to the Premier League where they will face Arsenal at the Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.
