Manchester City are not holding back on their summer transfer spending spree. The seven-time Premier League champions have reportedly agreed on personal terms with versatile French forward Rayan Cherki.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced the development in a tweet on his page on Wednesday morning, a few minutes after breaking the news of Tijjani Reijnders’ move to Manchester City.
According to him, Manchester City will submit an official bid to Lyon in the next few hours, with negotiations set to take place over the weekend.
The 21-year-old winger’s current contract expires on June 30, 2026, and is valued at about €45.00m.
Rayan Cherki had an impressive outing with Olimpique Lyon last season as he helped the seven-time Ligue 1 champions qualify for the UEFA Europa League.
Cherki scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists in 44 matches for Lyon last season. Rayan Cherki had an amazing run in the UEFA Europa League last season before they lost to Manchester United in a dramatic quarter-final fixture.
Rayan Cherki scored four goals and recorded 8 assists in the competition and was named the young player of the season.
