Kano Pillars have ended their winless run of seven matches after sealing a narrow win over Ikorodu City.

The former champions last won a game in the league last month – a one-nil victory over Kwara United.

However, Masu Gida put an end to the streak on Monday evening with a 2-1  victory over Ikorodu City.

Veteran midfielder, Rabiu Alli put the hosts ahead two minutes into the tie to register his third goal of the season.

Olakunle Akala doubled the lead in the 32nd minute after a dominant display.

Ikorodu City’s Joseph Arumala scored just before the break as the host took a 2-1 lead into the break.
