Kelechi Iheanacho has won the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership title with Celtic F.C. after a 3–1 comeback victory over Hearts at Celtic Park on Saturday.

The result sealed Celtic’s 56th league title as they overturned a first-half deficit to finish top of the table with 82 points, two ahead of Hearts in a tight title race.

Hearts had gone in front in the 38th minute through Michael Steinwender, before Arne Engels levelled for Celtic from the penalty spot just before halftime.

Second-half goals from Daizen Maeda and Callum Osmand completed the comeback and confirmed the title for Martin O’Neill’s side in front of their home supporters.

Iheanacho, who came on at halftime for Sebastian Tounekti, played his part as Celtic managed the game to secure all three points and clinch the championship. The Nigerian striker has now scored eight goals in 23 appearances across all competitions this season.

Speaking after the match, Iheanacho said he was delighted to finally get his hands on another major honour.

Reflecting on the pressure of the match situation, he added that Celtic remained focused despite the tension.

“It was a big tension and it’s a massive pressure. But we know what to do today, and we did it.”

On the quality of the opposition, he said Hearts made the game difficult but credited belief within the team.

“They were a very strong side, but God of soccer was on our side today.”

The 29-year-old also described the triumph as a welcome addition to his career achievements.

“It’s another silverware for me. I don’t think I won a silverware for a while now, so I’m happy. I won a silverware with this massive club.”
