La Liga served up late drama, shock turnarounds and costly collapses as Barcelona struck at the death, Sevilla fell apart at home and Villarreal let victory slip from their grasp.
Here’s how the key games unfolded;
Barcelona 2–1 Girona
Barça edged their Catalan neighbours with a dramatic stoppage-time header from Ronald Araújo after Pedri’s early opener was cancelled out by an acrobatic Axel Witsel strike.

The win takes Barcelona back to the top of the table and adds more pressure ahead of next weekend’s Clásico. Coach Hansi Flick was sent off late on and will now miss that game.
Sevilla 1–3 Mallorca
Sevilla made a promising start, with Rubén Vargas putting them ahead in the first half, but things unravelled badly after the break. Mateo Joseph struck twice in quick succession, and another Mallorca goal sealed a deserved comeback win. The home crowd were left frustrated as Sevilla’s defensive lapses proved costly.
Villarreal 2–2 Real Betis
The Yellow Submarine looked in control after goals from Tajon Buchanan and Alberto Moleiro made it 2–0. But Real Betis refused to fold — Antony pulled one back on 66 minutes and then equalised deep into stoppage time to snatch a draw at La Cerámica. Villarreal will see it as two points dropped; Betis will feel they earned their reward.
Atlético Madrid 1–0 Osasuna

Thiago Almada’s first goal for the club in the 69th minute settled a tight contest. Jan Oblak made a key save late on, and Atlético’s home form stays perfect — five wins from five at the Metropolitano.
