The streets of Lagos came alive in a carnival of colours, songs, and national pride as thousands of fans trooped out to celebrate with the Super Falcons during their open-top bus parade following their historic triumph at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Fresh off their dramatic 3–2 comeback win against Morocco in Rabat, the Falcons took to the streets of Lagos with the coveted trophy, giving fans across the state a rare opportunity to revel in the success of the nation’s most decorated football team.
The parade route stretched through major parts of Lagos, including Ikeja, Surulere, and Lagos Island, where excited fans lined the roads in their thousands, waving Nigerian flags, wearing green and white, and chanting the names of their favourite players.

Business owners paused operations, motorists honked in unison, and schoolchildren joined in the celebration as the team’s open-roof bus made its way through the city amidst heavy cheers and camera flashes.
Social media was flooded with images and videos of the joyous scenes, as players beamed with pride, waving from the top of the bus and lifting the WAFCON trophy high for all to see.
The players, led by team captain, Rasheedat Ajibade and star forward Asisat Oshoala, were visibly moved by the overwhelming support.

The open-top bus parade in Lagos comes just days after a formal reception was held in Abuja, where the team was received by President Bola Tinubu and conferred with national honours and monetary rewards.
