Barcelona crumbled to a shock 2-1 defeat to Las Palmas at home on Saturday evening, ending the celebration of their 125th year of existence on a sour note.
The hosts unsurprisingly dominated the game right from the start but were unable to find a way past the Las Palmas defence in the first half as it ended goalless.
The visitors broke the deadlock right after the restart after Kirian Rodriguez released Sandro Ramirez who finished into the bottom corner. Barca’s captain, Raphinha, continued his impressive form as he scored the equalizer in the 61st minute.
The visitors restored their lead six minutes later after Fabio Silva volleyed the ball past Inaki Pena, enough to hand Barcelona their first home loss since August
Barça remain in first place with 34 points and lead second placed Real Madrid, who have two games in hand, by four points while the victory moved Las Palmas up to 14th place on 15 points.
