​Ligue 1 Round-Up: Monaco triumphs, Lille edges Toulouse, Nice salvages draw

In a thrilling day of Ligue 1 action, three crucial matches lit up the French top flight on Saturday.

From Monaco’s emphatic victory over Marseille to Lille’s hard-fought win away at Toulouse, and a dramatic late equalizer that saw Nice snatch a point against Strasbourg, the day was packed with goals, turning points, and significant implications for the race for European spots.

 

Monaco 3–0 Marseille

AS Monaco secured a commanding 3–0 victory over Olympique Marseille at Stade Louis II, overtaking their rivals to claim second place in the league.

Takumi Minamino opened the scoring in the 34th minute, followed by goals from Breel Embolo in the 58th minute and Denis Zakaria, who converted a penalty in the 82nd minute.

Toulouse 1–2 Lille

In a closely contested match at Stadium de Toulouse, Lille emerged victorious with a 2–1 win. Mathias Fernandez-Pardo gave Lille the lead in the 21st minute, but Toulouse’s Charlie Cresswell equalized in the 42nd minute.

Just before halftime, Mitchel Bakker scored in the 45+4th minute to restore Lille’s advantage, a lead they maintained throughout the second half.

Strasbourg 2–2 Nice

At Stade de la Meinau, Strasbourg and Nice played to a thrilling 2–2 draw. Nice’s Melvin Bard opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Strasbourg responded with goals from Emanuel Emegha in the 51st minute and Sam Amo-Ameyaw in the 54th minute to take the lead.

However, in stoppage time, Youssouf Ndayishimiye equalized for Nice in the 90+4th minute, ensuring both teams shared the points.
