Liverpool has reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain to sign French winger Bradley Barcola, ending weeks of negotiations between the two clubs. The Reds have agreed to pay an initial £100 million (approximately €115 million), with a further £20 million (around €23 million) in add-ons that could push the total package to roughly £120 million.
Sporting director Richard Hughes and Fenway Sports Group president Mike Gordon led the negotiations for Liverpool, with personal terms already agreed with the 23-year-old. The final details of the deal are being finalized, after which Barcola will undergo a medical and sign a long-term contract with the club.
Barcola emerged as Liverpool’s priority target following the club’s failed pursuit of Yan Diomande and the departure of Mohamed Salah, whose exit left a gap in Arne Slot’s attacking options. Liverpool’s move for Barcola gathered pace after PSG added Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres, and Mika Godts to their squad this summer.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in a €45 million transfer in 2023. He made 152 appearances for the French champions across three seasons, scoring 39 goals and providing 37 assists, and won back-to-back Champions League titles with the club. He featured in all eight of France’s matches at this summer’s World Cup, where Les Bleus finished fourth.
Should the transfer go through, Barcola would become Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing, behind only the club-record deal for Alexander Isak from Newcastle. The move would take Liverpool’s total spending since the end of the 2024-25 season to more than £660 million, following the earlier signings of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Munoz, Jeremy Jacquet, and Giovanni Leoni.
Barcola predominantly operates from the left wing but has also featured on the right flank during his time at PSG. He is expected to serve as a long-term replacement for Luis Diaz, who departed Anfield earlier in the transfer window.
