Premier League champions, Liverpool ended their four game losing streak on Wednesday night with a comprehensive victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Reds came into the tie on the back of a 2-1 loss to fierce rivals Manchester United on Sunday at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s men started the tie looking to get their first win in four games but went behind in the 26th minute as Rasmus Kristensen put the host ahead.
However, the lead lasted for less than 10 minutes as French forward Hugo Ekitike zoomed past his markers in a beautiful solo run before slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Virgil van Dijk put the Reds ahead shortly after with a header from Cody Gakpo’s corner kick.
Ibrahima Konate scored from similar fashion just before the break as he met Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner kick with a header.
Liverpool took charge of the tie from that moment and continued the onslaught on the home side in the second half.
Florian Wirtz, the German midfielder who has been under severe criticisms over the past few weeks grabbed his first set of assists as as Gapko and Szoboszla got on the scoresheet.
Liverpool left Deutsche Bank Arena with a comprehensive 5-1 thrashing to end their four-game losing streak.
Chelsea rolled past Ajax

Reigning world champions, Chelsea also recorded a 5-1 win as the Blues blew away former European champions, Ajax Amsterdam at Stamford Bridge.
Enzo Maresca’s men did most of the damage in the first half with Enzo Fernandez and Estêvão scoring from the penalty spot.
Mark Guiu has earlier given the Blues the lead after 18 minutes of action after Ajax’s Kenneth Taylor picked up a straight red card.
