Lille equalized in the 62nd minute through Jonathan David, who found the net following a defensive lapse.
However, Liverpool regained the lead just five minutes later. A corner from Kostas Tsimikas found Harvey Elliott, whose deflected shot beat the Lille goalkeeper, securing the 2-1 victory.
