Liverpool are reportedly considering Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose future at Anfield is uncertain.
Salah, who has been in exceptional form this season with 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 appearances, is in the final six months of his contract.
The Egyptian winger recently expressed doubts about his future at Liverpool, stating, “I’m more out than in,” and revealing that no contract extension has been offered.
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta, Liverpool have identified Lookman as a leading candidate to fill the void left by Salah’s potential departure.
The Nigerian forward has been impressive at Atalanta, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 11 Serie A matches this season.
His performances have also been notable in the Champions League, where he has scored two goals and provided one assist in four appearances.
Lookman’s impressive form saw him finish 14th in this year’s Ballon d’Or rankings, and he remains the favourite to be crowned CAF Player of the Year.
