Ademola Lookman scored his first goal of the year on Saturday night in Atalanta’s 3-2 at Bergamo on Saturday evening.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year thought he had secured at least a point for his team as he scored on the 55th minute.
Lookman received a ball in space, beat his marker in fine fashion, raced towards the goal area, wrangled around five defenders before powering a left-footed striker into left-corner of goal.
Mateo Retegui had earlier given Atalanta the lead form a sublime striker before Matteo Politano and former Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay put Napoli later in the half.
However, even though Lookman was impressive on the night, former Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku stole the show.
Lukaku scored from a header with less than five minutes to the end of regular time to give Antonio Conte’s men the lead and consequently the winner.
The win takes Napoli to 50 points and top spot on the log with five points clear of rivals Inter Milan.
However, the defending champions have two outstanding matches having played 19 instead of 21 matches.
