Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will undergo routine medical examinations after he sustained a thigh injury while on international duty with Nigeria in Antalya, Turkey.
Okoye played the entire duration of the game against Iran on Friday, but missed the match against Iran after picking up an injury.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper suffered the knock in training ahead of Nigeria’s friendly against Jordan, and was replaced by Francis Uzoho, who also got injured against Jordan.
Maduka Okoye returned to the Super Eagles setup after missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and featured in Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Iran before the setback.
According to reports, the former Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper will arrive in Udine today for a series of routine medical checks with Juventus’ specialists.
However, he is not expected to train with Udinese this afternoon in preparation for the match against Como on Monday until the severity of his injury is ascertained.
