Man United compound Wolves woes to move into top six

Manchester United handed Wolverhampton Wanderers their 8th loss of the season in a commanding performance at the Molineux on Monday night.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice on the night to help the Red Devils secure their third away win of the season.

The Portuguese midfielder scored the opener, albeit a scrappy goal, after a brief period of dominance from Ruben Amorim’s men.

Matheus Cunha, on his return to his former home ground, was through on goal but unselfishly placed a pass behind Fernandes in the box but he shrugged off his marker to aim at goal.

Luckily, Emmanuel Agbadou ball helped the ball into the back of the net as he attempted to clear it off the line.

The visitors had a couple of chances to double the lead one of which Agbadou eventually cleared off the line as he denied Matheus Cunha a goal on his homecoming.

Against the run of play, Jean-Ricner Bellargarde restored parity two minutes into break as he latched on to David Moller Wolfe’s square ball into the box to give Wolves their first goal since October.

Upon returning from the first half break, Diogo Dalot, off a counter-attacking move, placed a simple pass to Bryan Mbuemo who tapped the ball into an empty net.

Mason Mount smartly beat the offside trap to met Bruno Fernandes’s tailor-made pass with a one-time strike which landed inside the net to give Man United a 3-1 lead after the hour mark.
