French attacking midfielder, Ryan Cherki sealed the winner for the visitors with seven minutes to the end of regulation time.
The former Marseille midfielder fired a right-footed low drive into the back of the net off a Joskol Gvardiol’s knock down from a corner kick.
The win takes Manchester to the top of the table with just a point above Arsenal who welcome Brighton and Hove Abion later in the day.
