Rescheduled: 3 Reasons why WAFCON was moved to July 2026

Manchester United have reportedly reached out to Brighton & Hove Albion through intermediaries to inquire about a potential deal for midfielder Carlos Baleba.
The 21-year-old Cameroon international, contracted until 2028 with an option to extend until 2029, is highly regarded but Brighton are reluctant to sell this summer.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have been informed that Brighton prefer to retain Baleba for at least another year.
The Red Devils, keen to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s squad, see the dynamic midfielder as a key target alongside their search for a striker, which is close to conclusion with Benjamin Sesko set to sign for the club imminently.
With Casemiro in his final contract year and Toby Collyer potentially leaving on loan, Baleba’s versatility suits Amorim’s 3-4-3 setup, which also features Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo.
Developments are expected soon as United push to bolster their midfield, but there is an understanding that this could be an extremely complex deal to pull off, with some reports suggesting United may need a significant bid to even begin discussions.
